love (two takes)

"Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other."
--Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
--Lao Tzu

(Thanks to Kim Addonizio for pointing these out in Ordinary Genius, a book I cannot put down!)

I loved that book, too! Tore through it. :-)

That Lao Tzu quote is great. Seems I've been a bit too courageous, and have been lacking strength of late.

Boy, do I hear you on that...sometimes it truly is better to receive than to give (the hard part is being patient enough to wait until there is something to receive)!

You know that I've got this love-thing on my mind.... I've put Kim's book on hold in my Amazon account and can't wait to take the plunge! Thank you.
