100 days

Who is Sharon Jones and where did she come from? (Georgia, by way of Brooklyn, apparently.) In any case, I want to be her when I grow up. A fantastic song with lyrics that strike just the right balance of bitter and sweet. An interesting concept that it takes 100 days "to know a man's heart" (and "a little longer...for him to know his own"). That is, of course, a rough estimate. Actual results may vary.

I love Sharon Jones, and this song in particular is great. I wanna be her when I grow up, too: good plan!

That's awesome and apropos of our new pres in office soon! Thanks. And I do love Annie LaMott -- although her influence on me isn't really spiritual. She makes me laugh and cry and wish she were my friend, but I want to hear some great old-timey poet, far removed from the present, sometimes.

Love Sharon! She's the real deal and finally getting a bit of acclaim. The English know her a bit better, oddly. The band was recruited by the Amy Winehouse people to record one of those insufferable moan fests.

PC and MR: Have you seen her live?
Elizabeth, try the hymns of Charles Wesley. (Some of them are in that Schmidt book!)

Loved this, Amy. But, um, in my case it took 14 years, and 4 years, respectively.

I hear you, Laura. Sharon needs to do another song about how a man's heart can change over the long term...
