I ...I totally admire both of you for homeschooling. I was homeschooled for a year as a kid (sixth grade--the worst year to be with other kids!), and my youngest three siblings were completely homeschooled. My husband and I decided long ago that, while time with our kids is paramount, we did not want to go that route. (My mother in law is a PhD in ed admin and a devotee of Dewey, my father-in-law is a retired public school teacher, while my folks are obviously anti-public school--such an interesting mix!)
The pictures of Emma Sage's homeschool activities are so appealing! She seems to be making great progress with letters and everything.
The private school is called the IDEAL School of Manhattan, and their website is:
http://www.theidealschool.org/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14227880272394874647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20460557.post-51322874845564270532007-02-19T16:44:00.000-05:002007-02-19T16:44:00.000-05:00Thinking of you and Stella. I have not heard of the school that was started by the three mothers, I'd be interested in reading more about them if you have a link.

There are many reasons we decided to homeschool our daughter, but the number one reason, was that her learning style is best if she is allowed to take a break every so often, and in public school that is not an 'acceptable' way to learn.

I hope you find the right answer and perfect situation for Stella!

I wish you lived out this way, I'd homeschool her with Emma Sage for you!
